Walk-in Clinic in Atlanta, GA

When you are in urgent need of medical attention, whether that be for an injury, lab test, or even for a physical, but are unable to make an immediate appointment with your primary physician, it can be quite stressful figuring out what you should do. If you are dealing with an urgent medical issue that is not life-threatening but cannot see your primary physician in the immediate future, you should consider visiting a walk-in clinic! Our medical professionals at My Health Reassurance are committed to providing compassionate and expert treatment to all our patients.

What do walk-in clinics treat?

Walk-in clinics treat mostly any medical issue that is not life-threatening. Life-threatening medical emergencies are beyond the scope of walk-in clinic services and must be addressed and dealt with by emergency rooms. With the aid of diagnostics and lab, we treat a variety of different illnesses and conditions at My Health Reassurance, including:

  • Asthma
  • Bronchitis
  • Chronic Gain
  • Cough and Bronchitis
  • Cold and Flue (Influenza)
  • Diarrhea
  • Ear Infection/Earaches
  • Gout (Chronic)
  • Heartburn/Indigestion
  • Hypertension (High Blood Pressure – Systolic less then 100)
  • Mouth and Oral Pain
  • Nausea, Vomiting
  • Pink Eye
  • Sinus Infections
  • Sore throat/Strept throat
  • Skin Abscess (only medicate; no incision and damage)
  • Upper respiratory infections
  • Yeast Infection and Bacterial Vaginosis
  • STD’s/STI’s
  • Athletes Foot
  • Allergies
  • Allergic Rhinitis
  • Impetigo
  • Ring Worm
  • Poison Ivy
  • Shingles

We also are proud to offer vaccinations, various physicals (DOT, college, and sports physicals), drug testing, flu shots, and more.

However, you should immediately go to the nearest emergency room if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

  • Abdominal or chest pain
  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
  • Dizziness, tingling, or numbness on one side
  • Excessive bleeding
  • Fainting spells
  • Seizures
  • Severe burns
  • Vomiting or coughing up blood

When should you go to a walk-in clinic?

If you are experiencing a medical issue that is not life-threatening, and you are unable to make a timely appointment with your primary physician, a walk-in clinic is an excellent option. Walk-in clinics are designed to both reduce the burden on emergency rooms so that they can focus on life-threatening medical emergencies and to ensure that medical issues that are not life-threatening can receive the proper attention as well.

How much is a walk-in clinic without insurance?

While the cost of your visit to a walk-in clinic will vary depending on the medical treatment you require, the average visit to a walk-in clinic typically costs between $50 to $150. For comparison, visits to emergency rooms typically cost five times as much as visits to a walk-in clinic for the same treatment! A visit to an emergency room can cost anywhere from $150 to $3000. For this reason, walk-in clinics are far more affordable than emergency rooms for medical issues that are not life-threatening.

We offer various specials and promotions at My Health Reassurance as well to ease the financial burden of medical treatments! These can be viewed on our Specials page. To qualify for these promotions, all that is required from you is your first name, last name, and your email address. Mid-way through the specials and promotions page is a box where you can fill out your information and begin to receive exclusive deals.

What is the difference between a walk-in medical clinic and ER care?

Whereas walk-in clinics can provide urgent care services for minor emergencies and non-emergencies, the ER (emergency room) is for major emergencies, which are health situations that are or could become life-threatening. And if you’re not sure whether a situation is or could become life-threatening, then you should consider it a major emergency, dial 911, and go to the ER.

Some patients will go to the ER for minor emergencies, but if you’re absolutely sure that the health situation isn’t life-threatening, then the best place to go is a walk-in medical clinic. Walk-in medical clinics is quite affordable for most patients, and they accept most health insurances too. However, please remember that the ER is absolutely necessary for major, life-threatening emergencies, and walk in care is not equipped to handle them.
